| Step#1 - Print out templates on cardstock & cut out. You may need to adjust the template. The base is roughly 2 3/4" long x 1 1/2" wide. The side template is 7 1/2" long x 1" wide. *Please note that I have included 2 templates. You will only need one set for this project - 1 base and 1 side. | |||||||
| Step#2 - Transfer oval base template to balsa wood and cut out using exacto. Sand edges of oval base lightly to create a smooth edge. | |||||||
| Step#3 - Take the side template piece and wrap/curl around the handle of the Exacto. | |||||||
| Step#4 - Place line of tacky glue around edge and glue the side template around the base. | |||||||
| Step#5 - Paint the tub with 2 coats of metallic silver paint. Let dry. | |||||||
| Step#6 - Use the wire cutters to cut off the sharp ends of two staples. These will be used for the handles. | |||||||
| Step#7 - Place the handle where you want it to be located on the side of the tub and press lightly. It should leave a slight indent. Using your Exacto, cut small lines where the indents are. | |||||||
| Step#8 - Place a small dab of glue on the edges of the handle and poke the edges slightly into the cuts. Then place a dab of glue on the inside of the tub where the handle edges poke through. | |||||||
| Step#9 - Make sure the handles aren't crooked and let dry. | |||||||
