The Nursery#3

I made this gift bag roombox for a friend of mine that I used to work with. Carol had seen the Nursery giftbags that I had made for my sister and asked if I could make one for her sister who was expecting.
I made most of the items in this bag. The crib is my own design using basswood and fancy toothpicks for the spindles. I handpainted it and decoupaged some cute ABC blocks on either end. The little "finials" on each leg are beads. I crocheted the baby afghan. The ABC blocks hanging on the wall are miniature replicas of a gift that Carol was giving to her sister at the baby shower.
I found the perfect material for the bedding at Walmart. The beautiful plaid rainbow type material and coordinating alphabet material matched perfectly with the wallpaper that I had already created.
The dresser is a dollar store find that I repainted and decoupaged. The toy chest is a AC moore purchase. The little side table I made from a pattern in the book Making Dolls'House Interiors: Decor and Furnishings in 1/12 Scale.
On the top of the dresser is a miniaturized photo of the soon-to-be parents, a metal ABC block charm, a tiny hat I crocheted and an adorable Jack-in-the-box. The Jack-in-the-box is from a tutorial on Mishelly'sZoo site. It is a fun and easy project. If you want to give it a try, here is a link to the project on Mishelly's website - Jack-in-the-box tutorial.

The dress is made from a pattern I found on the web. The site is in French, but it's pretty self-explanatory. Here's the link: Sudene's Creations.
