| Before we get started, I must inform you that this project is just an adapted version of Mishelly's folded shirts tutorial. Here is the link to her wonderful site: http://www.mishellyszoo.homestead.com/MyMiniatures.html | |||||||
| Materials Needed: | |||||||
Scissors for cutting paper Scissors for cutting fabric Scrap of fabric with small pattern My paper templates Click here for template. Mini dress shirt label Click here for labels. Buttons, small beads and/or micropuncher with glossy paper Tacky glue Ruler Toothpicks Exacto Tweezers Spray sealer Labels from Men's dress shirts reduced to 1:12 scale |
| Step#1 - Download paper templates and print out on cardstock. Using paper cutting scissors cut out templates. Download dress shirt labels and print out on plain paper. Cut out, seal with spray sealer and set aside to let dry. | |||||||
| Step#2 - Cut pieces of material: 1 piece = 5 1/4" long x 2 1/4" wide, 1 piece = 2" long x 1/2" wide, 1 piece = 2 1/2" long x 1/2" wide. | |||||||
| Step#3 - Position square piece of cardstock template on wrong side of fabric about a 1/2" from top. Place thin line of tacky glue on either side of cardboard and glue fabric vertically. Then fold 1/2" piece down and glue to cardstock. | |||||||
| |||||||
| Step#4 - Place some dots of tacky glue over the rest of the shirt. Fold the top part in half and then in half again. Set aside and let dry. | |||||||
| Step#5 - Take the collar cardstock template and lightly score the lines near the collar points. Crease along scored line, then unbend to normal shape. | |||||||
| Step#6 - Spread a little bit of tacky glue on the side with the scored line and place down on the wrong side of the fabric piece that is 2" long x 1/2" wide. | |||||||
| Step#7 - Using the fabric scissors trim the fabric to edge of cardstock. Do only the 3 sides shown. | |||||||
| Step#8 - On the last side trim along the angles side. | |||||||
| Step#9 - Then place small amount of glue on middle of the bottom of collar. | |||||||
| Step#10 - Fold piece of fabric down and press lightly. Trim excess fabric. | |||||||
| Step#11 - Now take the 2 1/2" long x 1/2" wide piece of fabric and place a line of glue down the center of the wrong side of fabric. Fold in thirds towards center overlapping the edges. | |||||||
| Now that you have all the pieces made let's put the shirt together. | |||||||
