Hat Shop

The Original Hatbox
Here you can see the wallpaper is all done and I've finished putting in the floor and tile flooring.
Started work on the display cabinet. Here is the basic frame.

Display cabinet all finished!

Here is a close-up of the interior of the shop. See all the price tags! I really think that most of the charm in miniatures is in the tiniest of details. I added them after I had taken the other photos and you'll notice them in some pictures and not in others. I was just too lazy to re-take close-up shots. Sorry:(

This photo shows the hats and hat stands. I made some of the hats and the rest I received in swaps.

Here's a nice shot of all the goodies in the display case. The awesome eggs, men's pocket watch and gold candelabra are all from Kerrie. The wonderful crocheted doilies, candle and ladies bell are from Carolyn. The cool duck hatpin holder was made by Jaime and the amazing jewelry displays are from my friend Melinda.

This photo shows a lovely hat that I purchased from Ann Weiner. The dressed resin manniquin was purchased from the dollar store. In the background, you can see the Michael's hutch that I painted and filled with miscellaneous items - the brown leather shoes made by Jaime, the fantastic leather suitcases made by Melinda and some of my hatboxes on the bottom shelf.

Here is another resin manniquin with a hat by Debbie.

The last mannequin with a hat by Mary Ann.

After I "finished" the hat shop, I realized the top of the Michael's hutch looked empty. During my research on millinery shops, I remember seeing one that had all kinds of lovely floral displays above the shelving...so, I added the flowers to the top. I just love the colors. I think they work nicely with the hutch and the scene.
