Glitter tubes

Materials Needed:
Fancy coctail toothpicks
Fine Sandpaper
Extra fine glitter is various colors
Tacky Glue
"Junk" Scissors for cutting toothpicks and tape
Clear Scotch tape
Flat toothpicks
White acrylic paint
Paintbrush
Tweezers (the locking kind are extremely useful for this project)
Approximate time to complete this project: 20 minutes
Step#1 - Using scissors, trim toothpicks just past the carved end. It should measure roughly 3/8". Lightly sand the rough edge with sandpaper.
Step#2 - Apply two coats of white acrylic paint to the tips of the cut toothpicks. Let dry.
Step#3 - Using locking tweezers, hold the toothpick piece by the white painted tip and apply a thin layer of Tacky glue with a flat toothpick over all of the unpainted wood. Don't forget the bottom!
Step#4 - Still holding the toothpick by the tip dip the glue covered end of the toothpick into the glitter. Gently tap the toothpick to remove any excess glitter and set aside to dry.
Step#5 - Repeat steps #3 and #4 - dipping the remaining toothpicks into different colored glitter.
Step#6 - Cut small pieces of clear scotch tape. Apply a small line of Tacky glue on one side of the glitter covered toothpick and wrap the glitter end of the toothpick with the piece of tape. This can be a bit tough, but after trying it a few time you'll get the hang of it. I usually have to hold the tape firmly until it sticks securely. Trim the excess tape at the bottom of the toothpick and using a toothpick add a dab of tacky glue at the bottom of the glitter tube.
