Our 10th Wedding Anniversary

Call me a procrastinator. I really cannot believe that I have just completed this simple project. Our 10th Wedding Anniversary was October 21, 2005. Time flies I guess.

I love these little display boxes. I did the Art Studio Roombox in one as well. They are reasonably priced at $7.99 at ACE Hardware. All the hardware to hang them is already attached. They can be displayed either vertically, as shown in the picture to the left, or horizontally. The door has hinges for easy access and there is a nifty little magnet on the door to keep it shut.

My hubby and I wanted to do something special to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We decided to visit the Four Sisters Winery for dinner, wine-tasting and wine-stomping. We had such a wonderful time. I would recommend it to anyone. Being a miniaturist, it wasn't long before I was thinking of making a roombox filled with rememberances from that special occasion.

Two years later, here was what I've come up with. For the outside frame of the box and the inside back wall, I used one sheet of scrapbook paper. I painted all other areas with 2 coats of white acrylic paint. Then using a sponge brush, I quickly went over it with Gold acrylic paint. I like the shabby chic look that it gives to the box.
To my shame, the only thing that I can claim to have made is the little side table and the printed picture of hubby & I. Everything else was made by some very dear and talented friends of mine.

The amazing wine picture was made by Mishelly, The shelf and butterfly knick-knack are by Carolyn. The wine barrel, small basket with grapes, bottle of wine, wine corkscrew and Wine book are by Lisa. The basket of flowers are by Mary Ann. The gold wine goblets and rug are by Kerrie. The delicious strawberry cake and basket filled with wine, grapes & cheese are by Bobbi.
